ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study the epidemiologic characteristics of human herpes virus (HHV) activated infection in the diseases of blood system and patients received allo-HSCT by statistically analyzing the screening results of 8 human herpes viruses (HHVs) of 4164 patients in Hebei Yanda LU Dao-Pei Hospital from 2012 to 2017.@*METHODS@#PCR was used to screen 8 HHVs.@*RESULTS@#Two thousand and fifty-two patients (49.28%) were HHV-positive among 4164 patients screened. Among these patients screened, the infection spectra of 8 human HHVs in hematological diseases as well as patients received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation of totally 2994 patients were summarized as follows: the positive rate of EBV (29.49%) was the highest, that of HCMV (23.15%), HHV-6 was 18.77% and HHV-7 was 17.64%, while the remaining 4 HHVs all≤2.1%. The rate of co-infection of various HHVs was significantly higher than that of single infection of HHV among all these disease groups except familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, for which single EBV infection was the most common. The differences of positive rates among these 8 human HHVs in hematological diseases as well as patients received allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation were statistically significant by Chi-square test of R*C tables (χ=54.99, P<0.05). For each HHV, the differences of positive rates among the above-mentioned disease groups were also statistically significant except HHV-8 (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSION@#The patients with various blood diseases have different activated infection spectra of HHVs. EBV, HCMV, HHV-6 and HHV-7 are most common in HHVs infection. Different HHVs infections correlate with different hematologion diseases.

ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To compare the efficacy of intravitreal injection of ranibizumab plus low power 532 laser versus 532 laser alone for treating retinal vein occlusion(RVO)with macular edema complication.<p>METHODS: Retrospective study of 48 patients diagnosed RVO complicated with macular edema from June 2017 to March 2018. Group A of 31 eyes(31 patients)were treated with intravitreal injection of ranibizumab plus low power 532 laser(the power is about 2/3 of the power of group B, about 100-130mw), and group B of 17 eyes(17 patients)were treated with 532 laser(the power is 150-200mw)alone. The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), foveal retinal thickness(CMT), FFA and fundus were observed both before and after treatment at timepoint of 1mo, 2mo and 3mo between the two groups.<p>RESULTS: In group A, BCVA was 0.84±0.02, 0.49±0.04, 0.29±0.04, 0.26±0.04 before and the 1, 2, 3mo after treatment. In group B, BCVA was 0.85±0.04, 0.58±0.01, 0.53±0.01, 0.53±0.02. The CMT value of group A before and after treatment was 527.5±17.59, 371±17.36, 298.5±32.87, 257.75±17.30μm, respectively. Group B was 535±16.36, 425±24.44, 420.25±17.70, 427.75±17.89μm. Intra-group comparison show statistical differences, group A had lower BCVA and CMT value than group B at the same time point(<i>P</i><0.05). Inter-group comparison with pre-treatment, there was significant difference in BCVA between 1mo, 2mo and 3mo after treatment(<i>P</i><0.05). The CMT and BCVA value from group A are the lowest.<p>CONCLUSION: Both methods are effective in treating RVO with macular edema, improving vision, alleviating ME, and effectively controlling the disease. However, combined treatment can significantly reduce macular edema, improve vision, and be more stable than laser treatment alone.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Immune eye diseases such as hyperthyroidism exophthalmos and uveitis seriously endanger the eye health of patients, which are common and difficult eye diseases. Current treatments for these diseases include oral administration of hormones and immunosuppressive agents, with poor efficacy, recurrent attacks and poor prognosis. Meanwhile, these treatments can induce systemic adverse reactions. Lymphocytes are directly or indirectly involved in these diseases. Therefore, we try to make papua eye patch carrying immunosuppressant, and deliver the drug through the topical use. Cyclosporin A microemulsion targeting lymphocytes can treat or control palpebral lymph nodes involved in the immune eye diseases. It is a topical method rather than the systemic medication, which is targeted and has small doses of drugs. If possible, this treatment can effectively treat immune eye diseases and avoid systemic drug adverse reactions and long-term adverse reactions induced by original drugs. OBJECTIVE: To study the preparation of cyclosporin A microemulsion papua cream eye patch, and its transdermal absorption characteristics in vitro. METHODS: Cyclosporine A microemulsion was fully mixed with water-soluble polymer materials at a ratio of 1 mg:1 mL, including sodium polyacrylate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, gelatin, peach gum, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, and then coated onto the non-woven fabric to prepare Babu cream. Permeability of the Babu cream on the abdominal skin of ICR mice was determined by Franz diffusion cell method. High-performance liquid chromatography was used to detect the concentration of cyclosporine A, and skin irritation and anaphylaxis were also measured. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Cyclosporin A microemulsion papua cream eye patch was successfully prepared with appropriate viscosity, good permeability, good permeability, comfortable application, no skin irritation and allergic reaction. The content of cyclosporine A was 10 mg/tablet, and the concentration was 1 g/L. The concentration of cyclosporine A microemulsion increased with the increase of time, and it had good transdermal effect. This study proved that it is feasible to prepare cyclosporine A microemulsion into papua patch. It has good performance in skin permeability, adhesion and skin comfort.

ABSTRACT

To provide theoretical basis for the traceability and quality evaluation of edible bird's nests (EBNs), the Cytb sequence was applied to identify the origin of EBNs. A total of 39 experiment samples were collected from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Genomic DNA was extracted for the PCR reaction. The amplified products were sequenced. 36 sequences were downloaded from Gen Bank including edible nest swiftlet, black nest swiftlet, mascarene swiftlet, pacific swiftlet and germain's swiftlet. MEGA 7.0 was used to analyze the distinction of sequences by the method of calculating the distances in intraspecific and interspecific divergences and constructing NJ and UPMGA phylogenetic tree based on Kimera-2-parameter model. The results showed that 39 samples were from three kinds of EBNs. Interspecific divergences were significantly greater than the intraspecific one. Samples could be successfully distinguished by NJ and UPMGA phylogenetic tree. In conclusion, Cytb sequence could be used to distinguish the origin of EBNs and it is efficient for tracing the origin species of EBNs.
